Live demo

Active fires, seen from space. Live.

Every dot on this map is a fire detected by the Suomi-NPP satellite's VIIRS 375 m sensor over the last 48 hours, anywhere in the world. NASA FIRMS data reloads on every visit, with a latency of roughly 3 hours after the satellite overpass. Zoom in on Benin, Africa, or any area you like.

From orbit to decision

1

Acquisition

The VIIRS sensor (375 m resolution) aboard the Suomi-NPP satellite sweeps the area twice a day and detects thermal anomalies, day and night.

2

Processing

NASA (FIRMS / LANCE EOSDIS programme) georeferences each detection and publishes position, timestamp and fire radiative power (FRP, in megawatts) in near real time.

3

Delivery

OHM WORKS turns this raw feed into a decision-ready map: date filters, visualised intensity, zoom on your areas of interest. The same pipeline applies to the zones you need to monitor.

What about your sites?

Forest concessions, plantations, network corridors: the same setup can monitor your zones and alert you as soon as a fire is detected. Let's talk.
